One of my first projects (outside of building cornhole sets), was meant to fit a large, open space on one of my own walls. I wanted a large, analog clock that would be a feature piece in the living room. But I didn’t want a basic round clock face. Eventually, I landed on the idea of a California shaped clock. As luck would have it, my parents had a large board of California redwood in their backyard. It had been sitting out in the sun for years and had this awesome silvered patina.

After cutting up the board, gluing up the panel, tracing, and cutting out the shape by hand, I had a piece I was quite proud to have made. In fact, it still hangs in our living room.

Since then, I have had the pleasure of making numerous clocks of varying shapes, sizes, and materials. I really enjoy using odd shapes because of the way the hour markings need to be adjusted, forced out of a circle into an irregular shape, but still being accurate.
